Surviving Cold

When metereology is unsteady, you'd better watch out, flu is always around the corner. Grown up with parents coming from small towns of cold Spain, remedies against cold are the key for survival.

My grandfather used to say the best remedy for catarrh was to put a chili in the soup. Without being that radical, surely you've heard more than one remedy for improving it without going to the pharmacy. The combination of Vitamin C (as an orange juice)and hot milk with honey is one of the most famous formulas. For sure, you are in the way, but it's better if you replace hot milk, which boost mucus, with hot water.
Another remedy, this one for sore throat, is to gargle with bicarbonate and lemon. First, get warm water and mix with lemon juice and bicarbonate. Then, drink a gulp and gargle as long as you stand. Repeat this two-three times a day until recover.
