"You've got something. You've got a gift"*. With this suggestive slogan Pepe Barroso introduced his most classical perfume, Don Algodón, a just in case, and one of the Spanish best sellers, with Aire by Loewe and Massimo Dutti Woman. Without the sensuality of Don Algodon Homme, it has remained in the top since the 80's. In 1985 born Don Algodon, a clothes brand addressed to young women at affordable prices, adapted to Spanish tastes and in the range of Benetton, and represented with a cloud. Obviously it was a success. In fact, La Bola de Cristal interviewed him as an example of the sucessful businessman. The best modelled for him, as Valeria Montenegro and Miriam Reyes. Soon there were launched perfumes and make up products. The arrival of the group Inditex and Mango changed the market and as a consequence Barroso was forced to let go his weekest divisions, his make up lines, and boosted his strong points, the perfumes. Models like Jaydy Michel and Carla Goyanes help him to reinvent the concept. *From the original:"Tú tienes algo. Tú tienes un don". |
